Everyone, let’s take a deep breath. We’ve come thus far, to the final fork in the road where everything gets resolved, but more importantly, we have the last episode to focus mainly on our leading characters. Because putting the villains behind bars was so yesterday.
“If you scream I will kiss you again!” he warns her.
He pulls her to the small boat on the beach. They sail towards the minor island and he pauses to show her their spot.
“I used to take you here to look at the sunset. Do you remember?”
She pretends not to.
“I brought you here for a picnic but you thought I was leaving you here stranded. You cried like a child.”
“That’s not funny,” she says as she falls on her butt. He helps her up.
“Do you remember now?”
“No. I just thought it wasn’t funny and I don’t want to hear it.”
Gusuma asks the receptionist in Aroon’s condo about his whereabouts. She learns that he’s headed to the upcountry.
Aroon and Whitney are on land now and he says they should have a nice picnic here, he has prepared all of the food. Whitney is like a surly child and says that she wants to go home instead.
“If you behave, I’ll take you home,” he says. “If you misbehave, then you’ll be here forever.”
She rolls her eyes.
He pulls out a pillow from his backpack.
“Freak! We can’t stay here, there’s no place to stay.”
“How do you know that,” he suddenly asks, hopeful. “Have you been here before?”
“When are you going to give up?” she asks. “No matter what you do, I won’t recall those memories about you.”
“I’m never giving up,” he replies.
They make their picnic and she prepares their jelly sandwich. He is about to take a bite of the jelly sandwich when she stops him.
“You can’t eat that! There’s some shrimp derivative in the jelly, you’ll die!”
“You do remember! I’m allergic to shrimp. You never forgotten about me, right?” his face is ecstatic.
She doesn’t answer and walks off. He comes behind her and hugs her.
“I’m happy that you remembered. More importantly, it makes me realize that you care about me.”
“Well now that you know, take me back home then,” she says.
“Why did you lie to me?”
“I wanted you to forget me. So we can start our own new lives, without anyone feeling hurt or remorse,” replies Whitney.
“I can never forget you. Just like you’ve always remembered me.”
She pulls away from his hold, “but there won’t be a happy ending for us.”
“Maybe so, in the past. But now things have cleared up. Your father has accepted me.”
“But there’s still Gusuma..”
He reassures her with his hands on her shoulders, “There is nothing between me and Gusuma.”
“But she loves you. I don’t want to hurt her- like the way I’ve hurt Khun Non.”
“I will talk to her. Friends should be happy for friends. I’m positive she will understand,” he brushes her hair from her face. “You need to give me a chance. Give us both a chance to start over.” He cups her face and kisses her forehead. He leans down and kisses her cheeks, with the sound of the sea washing against the rocks, and the background song sings about how they are meant to be together.
Some time later, Whitney returns to Bangkok to first apologize to Dekcha’s mom, for lying to her about having amnesia. Dekcha and Nut apologize to Whitney for making that plan of drugging her drink. Whitney tells them that she’s not angry at them, she turns to Aroon who is standing behind her, “I’m more mad at you,” she teases.
“So I’m wrong then?” he pouts, “You tricked me first. Ok fine, I was wrong. I’ll admit it.”
As Whitney plays soccer with the kids, Dekcha asks Aroon when he’s planning on making his move (marriage.) He doesn’t want to be hasty because it has been difficult to be with her, and he has hurt her family so much that he doesn’t dare speak of it so soon. Dekcha says that he is stressing too much over it. His friend encourages him to do something quick so he can show how honest and true he is with her.
Ah, Dekcha always the smartest. He tells Aroon, “if you see Whitney as someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with, you need to make her as well as her family, feel confident in you.”
Nut helps Aunt Pim with the dishes and the tables are turned on her. The older woman wants to know when she and Dekcha will finally end up together? Nut looks uncomfortable at the prospect.
“Do you not care about my son then?” Aunt Pim asks. “He must not be your type then. When you meet your ideal man, be sure to introduce him to me.”
Nut thinks to herself, “it’s not that I don’t care about your son. He’s the one who doesn’t give me the time of day.”
So the next work day, Dekcha hands out an invitation to the company’s anniversary. The three girls surmise that it’s probably an excuse to introduce Whitney and Aroon as an item. Then they direct their attention to Dekcha and wonders when he will find his happy ending?
Dekcha looks confused. “Me? Who am I supposed to end up with?” he asks. “My life is filled with home and work. I haven’t met anyone who is suitable for me.”
“It’s Nut of course,” the girls say.
Nut walks adjacent to the showroom and overhears him saying loudly, “I don’t want her. A person like me needs a girlfriend I can show off, not that kid!”
Nut is saddened by his words.
The anniversary party is heavily underway that evening. Khun Amnui sees Aroon and tells him he needs to speak with him. Dekcha and Nut also appear and the girls compliment on how pretty Nut is. They tell her to dress up more often so she can meet a potential man who is handsome and rich, so the person around there will regret it.
Dekcha plays it off with a laugh and tells them to drink so they don’t talk so much.
Aroon looks around for Whitney and sees her descending the stairs in her orange flowing romper.
“You’re beautiful,” he says. “But you’re missing something.”
He takes out a red velvet box with a necklace inside.
“What’s the occasion?” she asks.
“I wanted to adorn you.”
She smiles shyly and turns around for him to put the necklace on her.
“This is just a necklace,” he says, “wait until our wedding and I will give you a ring.”
“Who’s going to marry you?” she retorts.
“If you won’t marry me, who would you marry then?” he asks.
“There are some out there.. I have a lot of male friends abroad too.”
“I bet they’re all married by now.”
She teases, “Are you sure?”
He pulls her into his arms, “You are forbidden to marry anyone else. Have you forgotten what’s between us? Or should I refresh your memory?”
Nut doesn’t mean to interrupt them but she needs to find the restroom as she has punch spilled all over her dress. Whitney brings over a few dresses for her to choose.
Khun Amnui and Aroon have their talk.
“What do you say if I tell you that our Sales Manager position is open? And I want a talented person to come back and work for me?” Khun Amnui asks. “Just think about it.”
Aroon asks for Whitney to dance with him. Nut walks out with a new dress and Dekcha is speechless.
As Aroon dances with his girl, he says that she hasn’t responded to his marriage proposal.
“If I refuse, will you take back the necklace?” she asks.
He smiles, “No. I’ll just kiss you in front of everyone so no one else dares to.”
She shakes her head.
In the dark corner, Gusuma spies on them and promises to wreak a vengeance on her. She takes out a gun and aims. Dekcha sees her and throws himself on Aroon as Gusuma fires. It appears as if he was shot in the back.
Her friend from abroad also came to wrestle the gun from Gusuma. They take the victims to the hospital and she introduces her family to Anthony, her friend from England. Aroon could only stand with his arms folded across his chest, jealous. He is the one to buy out Yoting’s hotel.
“You guys seem close,” Aroon mentions as they walk out.
“We’re very close,” she says, “he came here to see me so we can rekindle our old friendship.”
“You enjoy yourselves then,” he said abruptly, “I’m going to check on Dekcha.”
Whitney is confused by his change in mood.
A body is rolled out of the emergency room and Nut immediately thinks Dekcha is dead. She throws herself on the body and cries. Then she hears his voice from behind the technician. There he is, standing there with a sling around his shoulders. She hits him and throws her arms around him at the same time.
“Dekcha is fine,” Aroon confirms, “the bullet ricocheted on him. He just passes out when he saw his own blood.”
The girls tease Nut for hugging a dead body. Dekcha teases her again for being so over the top. Nut angrily tells him that she’s sorry that her concern seems over the top to him.
Nut cries in the cab ride home, feeling foolish.
Oh, and Aroon, so insecure of himself. He goes back to his condo, jealous and upset about Whitney’s old “friend.” He remembers his conversation earlier with her, that if she won’t marry him, who would she marry? She replies that there were friends abroad to choose from. To him, it seems to be closer to the truth.
Aroon goes to see Whitney the next day but he just missed her, she went on wedding business.
His face pales and he heads back to his car. Kongkaew asks Khun Amnui why he didn’t tell Aroon that Whitney went to look for wedding materials for a friend. Khun Amnui replies that Whitney told him to say that.
Nut doesn’t go to work as she needs to pick up her aunt from the airport. That night Dekcha confronts her.
“Why weren’t you at work?” he asks.
“I’m resigning. I’m going to be traveling out of the country.”
“So it’s true?”
“Yes.”
“Why.”
“I figured I would continue my education and help my aunt with her restaurant,” she replies.
He advises, “You can continue your education here. I can help you find one.”
“No thanks. I’d rather go there.”
“Why? What about this house?”
“I will sell it.”
He takes her hand, “No. You can’t sell this. We grew up together.”
“Everything must eventually change, P’Cha.”
“Nothing will improve if I stay here,” she says. “I don’t have any parents. I don’t even have my sister anymore. I’m no longer attached to this place.”
“What about me?”
She removes her hand from his. “We are just neighbors, isn’t that right?”
She walks away; he can only look forlornly at her.
I guess you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone (or leaving..)
Dekcha vents to Aroon about Nut.
“I’m not used to it. If I don’t have her close, to mess with me.. to ring the tin can so we can chat at night.. who runs and wakes me up in bed.. even when I slept in the nude,” he recalls this with a smile, still not realizing how he truly feels about her.
He’s smart with everyone else’s issues, except his own.
“If she moves, I’d be very lonely.”
Aroon smiles. “That’s just it? You are only lonely if she leaves? Nut has a heart and if you’ll only miss her for that, then I don’t agree with you. Let her go.”
He walks to his friend, “but if there is more in your heart, then tell her.”
Aroon admits to Dekcha that he’s jealous of her foreign friend. They both split up to take care of their business.
Aroon goes to see Whitney and learns that she’s choosing wedding favors with Anthony. This upsets him because he feels she is in such a rush to get married again. Lol.
Dekcha is trying to find the gumption to admit his feelings for Nut. He rings the tincan and tries to call her to no avail. On the other end of the can, Nut cuts the string, for the second time, severing it.
Dekcha has made up his mind, there really is something more with the way he feels about Nut. He can’t lose her now. He phones Aroon to help him and they search the airport for Nut, but then he realizes that it’s too late.
Dekcha doesn’t want her to leave without knowing how he feels about her.
Nut is in the restroom when a stranger asks to use her cellphone. She notices a call from Dekcha. He’s crying over the phone, that he is saddened that he didn’t get to see her off. At first he is angry and confused as to why she decided to move, but it makes him realize how he feels about her. He knows that in all aspect of his life, aside from his mother, she has always been there for him. She’s his sister, friend, co thinker and lover. He just realized how important she is to him. It’s no use for him to say these things since she might already be on her way to Singapore. But he needed to let her know. Nut is listening to this, holding in her sob. He tells her that he loves her and it isn’t something that developed over night. It occurred through the span of their lives together. He has never felt this way about anyone before. He wishes her well.
Nut stands in the airport, crying.
As Dekcha sits on the couch at home, he says to Aroon, “it looks like I have to start saving money to go to Singapore.”
A voice from behind them says, “no need to anymore.”
They both turn to see Nut standing there.
Dekcha pulls her in for a bear hug, not believing his eyes. “Is this really you?”
“Of course. I didn’t board the plane yet and someone called with a long message. How could I go? I didn’t really get it over the phone. Can you repeat it?”
Dekcha’s all shy, “I can’t say it anymore.”
“Just say whatever you remember then.”
“What I remember..” Dekcha looks into her eyes, “I love you.” He kisses her hand. “What about you? Do you love me?”
“Why would I return then?”
They embrace.
Aroon smiles at them.
Unfortunately for him, Whitney is gone with Anthony again. Whitney makes everyone say things to make Aroon misunderstand her.
Aroon goes back to the beach house and thinks about his good times with Whitney. He displays all of the wind chimes in a string. As he turns around, he sees Whitney.
“What are you doing here?” he asks.
“Well, you came out here and didn’t invite me,” she replies.
“I noticed how busy you were with the wedding details. I didn’t want to bother you.”
“Really? That is true. I was really busy.” She plays with the wind chimes.
“Why are you wasting your time here then? Or are you looking for a honeymoon spot? It’s not pretty here.”
“I’m not going to have my honeymoon here. I’m tired of this place already. Besides, it’s up to the bride and groom, not me.”
Aroon looks at her with confusion.
“Anthony and Sofia, his bride of course.” She shows him a picture of them.
“So you’re not going to marry Anthony?!” he asks.
“He’s my friend, of course not.”
Aroon beams.
“How come you didn’t tell me?”
“Well you didn’t ask.”
He reaches for her neck, “I could kill you, Whitney!”
“Why?” she asks.
“You messed with me. You drove me crazy, don’t you know? I thought you would leave me for him.”
“Next time ask, ok?”
“There’ll be no next time,” he says, “because you’re not getting close to any other guy.”
They smile at each other and he takes her hand.
“Will you stay here with me?”
“We have to go back to work. Are you coming back?”
“If I get my old secretary back.”
“Who else would she work with?” Whitney teases.
“Give me two days and I will follow you back,” he tells her.
Man, they are cute.
As Whitney walks back, Gusuma comes from behind her. Oh yeah, there’s that bitch we still have to take care of.
Whitney comes to consciousness and finds herself in the car with Gusuma, who tells her she’s sending her to hell.
Whitney reaches her phone quietly and dials Aroon’s phone, he could overhear their conversation. Gusuma says she will make her death seem like an accident. Yep, we’re still sticking to the theme!
The cops are called and everyone work together to find out where Gusuma took Whitney. The cops trail Gusuma’s car but she doesn’t stop. They fight for the steering wheel until the car hits a tree.
Aroon volunteers to donate his blood to Whitney. Aroon, Dekcha and Nut go to see Gusuma, who is safe but just battered. She wants to know if Whitney is dead. Gusuma screams at everyone until she saw the cops, they want to question her on the premise of kidnapping and attempted murder. She tries to run but her legs don’t move.
Well, there’s karma, she’s pretty quick. Su is handicapped.
Aroon doesn’t weaken his resolve to see her. He says it’s the best way to help her. He too learns how important it is to end someone’s hopes.
Aroon refuses to leave Whitney’s side. He wants to be the first person she sees when she wakes up. He talks to her while she’s asleep, cajoling her to wake up.
Whitney hears Non’s voice telling her to return and to stop blaming herself for Non’s accident. Non says that everything happened because of fate, not because of Whitney. She tells Whitney to go and live her life. Aroon loves her very much, more than he has ever loved Non, don’t let him lose another person that he loves. Non asks Whitney to take good care of Aroon and love him for her.
Whitney’s eyes slowly flutter open. She sees Aroon sleeping by her bedside. She touches him with tears rolling down her face. He hugs her and tells her that he cannot live without her. They reunite with tears of joy. Her parents join them but finally let the two rejoice.
The four visit Non’s burial and say their final farewell.
Aroon walk Whitney to a beautiful overpass.
“You haven’t told me what Non said to you.”
“I don’t know if it was real or a dream. Let me keep it to myself.”
“But people who love each other should not have secrets.”
“How about I share it with you when the timing is right,” Whitney relents.
“Then we’ll have to rush the wedding. It’s a good thing, Cha won’t be able to marry before us.”
“I’d like to ask you for the final time, are you sure.. that you will love me with all of your heart?”
“Why do you ask me that? How many times would you like me to tell you.. that I love you?” he asks in return.
They embrace atop the overpass.
“I can’t tell you how I fell in love with you. One heart loves you. The other is cautious of you. And then one of them wants to run away. But you must not know that every time I look at you, all of those crazy feelings play together. I want to run away, I want to get close to you,” he brushes her hair out of her face and cups her cheek.
“Is that why you’re always looking to start a quarrel with me? You even wanted me in jail.”
“I’m aware that it was an unforgiveable stupidity on my part. But I guarantee that from now on, I am going to pay for all of the bad things I’ve done to you. By loving you as much as possible- with every minute, with every breath. You will never be hurt because of me again.”
She smiles.
“Will you give me another chance?” he asks.
“Yes. We’ll each other another chance,” she replies.
The song sings about how they are meant to be together. Aroon leans down and they kiss to seal the deal. They embrace each other with love, depth and feeling.

You know, I must say, after all of the bullshit they’ve put each other through (put us through for that matter) I am quite pleased with the ending. It was sweet and really shows off the chemistry between Aump and Om. They were the saving grace for this lakorn, after all. I could care less about the plot, storyline or even villains. I’m just glad they had their happy ending, learn their lessons and well, close off this recapping business for channel 7!
