I have not gone viral or Selena Gomez on you, but I’m talking about the magic in Roy Mai, episode 12. The scream that was heard through twitter did not have to do with Siriwattana hiding behind a tree, crying at the scene before him. But I yelped, or screamed like a fangirl due to the beautiful, magical buildup of that very scene.
Keep in mind that in the last few episodes, Siriwong has made up his mind to stay away from Maneerin, it was the valiant thing to do, the right thing to do. But no matter how much he tries, Maneerin would come after him, stirring the boiling pot of frustration, want and need. His pent up emotion is like the rope between two opponents who are playing tug of war, and is at the breaking point.
So now he sees Maneerin, in the middle of the night, wandering the forest alone. From afar Siriwong’s voice is laced with anger, he tells her that she needs to leave and it was her last warning. But Maneerin is made of stern stuff, she drops her lantern and prods him further. Who does he think he is to command her?
Siriwong like an angry god descending, stomps his way towards her, at this point they are so far apart. The night sizzles with energy at his anger. “Do you think you’re the only one hurting right now? You don’t think I have a heart?” he yells at her. They are progressing towards each other, each angry of the marriage, angry of the situation. “What do you want from me?” She retorts. Siriwong waves his arms, “You don’t think that I’m devastated by your impending nuptials?” Maneerin with tears starting to swim in her eyes accuses him of ignoring her and giving her hope. Siriwong thought that she would understand that he was trying to do the right thing. But every time he tries to escape her, she finds him. He warns her already that she should not get in his sight. Maneerin angrily tells him that she will be out of his sight then. She will forget everything and act like they are two people who don’t even know each other. When she gets close enough to him, she yells, “-and I don’t have a friend like Prince-” but before she could finish, Siriwong grabs her face and pulls her in for a searing kiss. The magical kiss went on and on. Maneerin holds him to her as her wrap falls slowly to the ground. The buildup to this moment is completed with a blissful release.
Friends, we got what we asked for, this is the sweetest, most beautiful moment between Ateam. Not to mention, the intimate scenes that follow after the night. After all, as Siriwong lays his head on Maneerin’s lap and tells her,”Between duty and love, I may be wrong with duty. But with love, I am not wrong… from now on, I will take care of Princess Maneerin myself,” we can believe him, even if he has to honor his promise in his next life.

I really really really want to watch it but I am waiting on subtitles. This lakorn is much harder to watch because of the language usage. I can normally understand about 35 percent of what they are saying in a lakorn but not this one…it’s about 10 percent.
Wishboniko is really fast with her subbing.. so hang in there my friend. I just heart this episode to pieces!
Is it possible for someone to do the recap for episode 12 before the subtitles out? I wanna know what did they said in the forest so badly, please please please….
I gave in and watched the beginning of ep 12 raw. *__* I love that though Siriwong and Maneerin were speaking words of rebuke, their feet would not stop walking towards each other like how duty tells them to walk away but their hearts would not let them. I also love the post-willing (?? hehe) scene where Siriwong looked right at home with his head on Maneerin’s lap. :p
I watched epi 12 on thinkjadenxd’s channel. Did they end up doing the deed or just made out? LOL I’m still waiting to see when Mei turns into that fugly monster. Hrm…
I believe they did the deed, it’s all in perception. A mere kiss won’t send Maneerin into a random hugger (to P’Kamtiang), pink faced, wandering mind. Also, with the way that Siriwong holds her hands and tells her that he will take care of her from now on, solidifies it.. Either way, I choose to perceive that they did the deed hehe.
The show was kinda vague. We only have the dropping of Maneerin’s shawl and we have her doing up her hair. I guess it could’ve been only a hot make out session on the grass but to me, when you have the camera panning away in dramas, that equals doing the deed. haah, it’s up to your interpretation. Unless any of their dialogue indicates on way or the other? Will have to ask Fia.

@happysinyoon, Wishboniko is actually really fast, I think she completes the eng sub by end of week. Although recapping is not as hard as subbing, it does take a lot of time and doesn’t have the same satisfaction as watching it and understanding it at the same time 🙂 Sorry for the drawn out explanation!

@happysinyoon It’s always tough waiting for subs, but like Fia said, wishy is one of the fastest and best subbers out there and she has already started on ep 11, so I believe ep 12 will come along soon. 🙂

That sounds like a good plan. When we get bored, we can pull them out and have them entertain us. BTW, mayhaps we should come up with a nickname for Ken/Ann?
I usually refer to them as KA and I’ve not seen other fans give them any nicknames. D: They need a cute nickname too!
Hello Stranger is funny right? The funniest part for me was the Winter Sonata bit, I remember almost choking from laughter. Heeh, I’m laughing to myself just recalling that scene. I’m not on twitter so will have to continue spamming your blog!

Did you like Hello Stranger? I thought it was cute and entertaining. I watched it a couple of months ago along with the movie Ken was in a few years ago. BTS Bangkok Traffic Love Story or something. Both made me teary eye. LOL
I did like Hello Stranger, it made me laugh out loud. I got teary eyed from laughing my butt off than by the sentimentality- which I thought wasn’t convincing enough. It is worth the watch for the laugh though- golly, the main guy was hysterical. I have not seen Bangkok Traffic Love yet, but they brought it up in the movie because the main girl had a supporting role in it. I’ll see if I can find it at the video store. What have you been up to? Watching?

Usually, I can watch lakorns with no problems understanding what they’re saying IF they use conversational Central Thai dialect. But THIS lakorn…shoot. I understand maybe 15-20% if I’m lucky. “Bagk chao” is hard to understand. It sounds like a nicer version of Issan to me.
Hehe. lakorns are the only way I expand my Thai vocabulary. It helps me a lot whenever I go back to the motherland to visit family and friends.
Hey guys- so I was thinking along the lines of the perception of whether they did “the deed” and I suddenly pictured Siriwattana overseeing their “endeavor.” Wouldn’t it be weird and borderline creepy to have your brother and “fiancé” spy on your exuberance in bed? Yuck. And does that make me a total weirdo to even think about it to begin with?
Uh yea it is. But maybe he gets off watching other people? LOL
Yea, when big bro showed up behind the tree, my first thought was ‘how long have you been there??’. I hope for Siriwong and Maneerin’s sake that all he saw was the hand kissing!
With the way that he shoves his fist in his mouth to prevent himself from crying abominably, I take it he has seen everything.. but why remain so calm in the face of “adversary?” Should he pummel his brother’s face in and disclaim his ruined bride? So that remains as a question for next week.. I’m sure somehow, Bua Ngern will fabricate or fuel the fire in his heart to spur him into action.. Next week seems so far away!

I love episode 12, I watched it raw but Ateam just rock. Their chemistry is top notch. The scene in the forest, the way they can’t stop walking toward each other, their eyes especially Maneerin angry and determinate way of looking at Siriwong, the way they argue before Siriwong sudden kiss the sweet scene after the deed and the way a loving Aum looks at Aff when he was lying on her laps. I can’t forget when Aum kissed Aff forehead…they just shined

Nothing draws my interest like Roy Mai too so I am so bored ! I keep replaying Ateam fire scene in my head and their chemistry is so organic I still feel it. What I like the best about Maneerin and Siriwong is how devoted they are toward each other (the other onscreen couples this year just don’t match because the storyline of their dramas have this “conventional lakorn” vibe). Roy mai makes me travel and thank to that I wish I could go to Chiang mai one day. Siriwong and Maneerin risked their lives to save each other (snake scene) and Siriwong has protected Maneerin of Bua Nguern multiple actions. I love that Siriwong and Maneerin long for each other and how Siriwong said Maneerin “he can’t leave her anyway” when they talked behind the tree. I started by watching and liking kdramas and I think technically they are better than thai lakorn but I have to feel that way for an onscreen kdrama couple.
So after 12 episodes between Roy mai and Jam Loey Rak what do you like the best ?
I like both and they are different in their own way…but having said that, I prefer RM’s characters and storyline over JLR. I’m not a fan of male protagonist using their brute force or masculinity to subdue or avenge against the female lead i.e by raping her. In any shape or form, that can never be done tastefully. I hate to think that the hero would hurt the heroine in that way, but then again I am a feminist. Then after Ep 12 (JLR), I felt that Hariths attempt to make it up to So was pretty lame- like really, you’re going to masquerade as an interested man to her cousin so you can enact your revenge in front of the woman of your dreams? Then behind everyone’s back you try to be all sweet to her? Then the ending was anticlimactic.. All this time So has been trying to run away from him, detest him, but when she learns that she owes her cousin nothing, then everything is just peachy? I don’t buy it, but apparently I still like the lakorn lol.. Mainly for Ateam’s intense chemistry. So yeah, I like RM better!
Lol these are the lakorn’s effects. And I agree Roy Mai is better. The princess almost plays the P’ek role here ! I love Maneerin and Siriwong !
Wow, this scene got people crazy.Everyone is talking about it.I;m still on episode 9 and I’ve been reading comments on Asianfuse and the fans are going crazy about the scene.Its unstoppable.ha.So, I decided to watch the scene yeah I was surprised but I didn’t scream or got excited while I was watching that scene.Maybe its b/c I’ve been reading all those comments and i got excited from reading them.so when i watch it i lack excitement b/c i already knew what is going to happen.like that kiss he gave her, hell yeah it was out of nowhere for me, but i didn’t scream at all i usually scream though.it was weird for me.ahah.
Yes, that is the thing about reading ahead and getting spoiled by others, so I try not to do that until I’ve already watched the scene 🙂
The scene really took me by surprise.. they’ve been pouting at each other for the last few episodes, then suddenly we get the forest scene lol. A pleasant surprise if anything, I’m glad for it.
If you were suprised by this scene and feel that it came from nowhere, even after reading so many spoilers, that prooves that this scene is efficient. I guess it is successful at suprising people at least and this is one of its main purpose
Absolutely the scene is efficient. But I on the other hand, do not read spoilers and do not visit forums to see what others think of the scene prior to watching it myself. What’s the point right? I would prefer to watch the scene then partake in discussions- otherwise it will take the surprise element out of the lakorn. But everyone has their way of enjoying lakorns and I always say.. To each it’s own 🙂 as long as one is happy, one can go about it one’s way.
Unless it is a lakorn I am not so certain will be good, then I read snippets to help me decide whether I should watch it, as to not waste my time. But when it comes to Ateam, I just pull through no matter how bad it is lol (like Namtan Mai).
Ateam is a treat ! I wanted to ask you how do you manage to be able to understand this lakorn, because I heard even thai people can’t understand everything since they speak a different language ! In your book if RM won some awarads what would they be ?
